1968 Superior

Good view of the hearse. 1968 Superior "Tori"
Backed in the Morgue getting ready for some needed love.
Passenger side wheel well. Not much of anything behind the skirts
Drivers side again not much holding the skirt up
Passenger side inner structure you can see the tire through the hole close to the floor
Drivers side, hole towards the floor, wheel well rotten gone
Better view on the driver's side. You can see alot of day light through there.
The rust and bubbling on the driver's quarter panel
Some of what was hiding under the filler
Cutting the outer and inner fender well away some
More of the back of the wheel well that fell off after hitting it with the hammer some
Starting to fit the upper section of the wheel well
Grinding the filler out and a few more taps of the hammer ..poof the rear section of the wheel well fell off
Here it is trimmed back some to better steel
Welded the rod to a skirt so I can form it to shape
Here is the rod shaped to the skirt
The rod tacked in place to make the skirt/ wheel well opening
More trimmed away and flanged getting ready for the new patch panel
Two sections tack welded in
The front wheel well again a few hits with the hammer and all of it fell off. Look how rusted the inner is. I still have to rebuild all of that
Side view with the skirt on and the rust
A picture of the inner bracing I have welded to keep everything in place
All of this is from the front of the quarter panel. The mouse nest came from inside the rocker panel.
The front rod I bent and shaped to fit the skirt, and cut the rust back to good steel
Front view if the difference curves to the skirt and rod
A view of the inner structure all rotten out
Rear view from the bottom looking up at the rust through
The wheel well outer all welded in and ground
Another rear view of the wheel well welded and ground down. Still have to build the inner well lip yet
Dug into the back of the quarter panel. I will need to cut the bottom off and that old patch out and replace
The wheel well lip made, and welded in
Front fill strip like the factory did
Complete wheel well
Back brace in like the factory
The ugly under the filler and bubbles
Cut off the bottom of the quarter and the rear old rusted out patch
Tack welded in
Ground down, ready almost for some filler work
Before
After

Rotten front before
After rebuild
